Matthew, as we embark on a journey into the next 3-5 years, envision a future where fashion and technology reshape our perception of style. How do you foresee the evolution of digital clothing? Has the breakthrough already happened?
MD: So I believe the breakthrough is underway. The convergence of technology, culture, and the circumstances of the pandemic played a significant role. With everyone spending more time in virtual spaces, connecting through video games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft, executives from traditional fashion businesses couldn't ignore the growing presence of virtual experiences. Additionally, the rise of cryptocurrencies and the buzz around NFTs, showcased the potential for making substantial profits from virtual products.
Examples like the Clone X drop, which generated hundreds of millions, served as eye-opening moments. But perhaps, the biggest shift we’ll see is the mass adoption of spatial computing and the introduction of more 3D content into our physical environment. Apple’s release of the Vision Pro gives a tantalizing glimpse into how mixed reality will impact in the years ahead. 😎
